Why it's so hard for trout to get over the falls

Hitting at the wrong angle, this one gets pulled down by the current. If they go in head first like this they either pass right through the falls hitting the rock wall behind, or if the current is strong like it is here, it instantly punches them down where they tumble about in the strong current for a few seconds. This fish is also running across the current which also will not work.
