Why it's so hard for trout to get over the falls

dry run creek norfork arkansas

Two trophy browns compete for the same "sweet spot" in the current, a location that for some reason they seek out. Apparently things get somewhat competitive as these two repeated this act more than once. Neither one made it over the fall until they finally got away from each other. Look closely below the fish in the foam. That brown thing in the water is a beer bottle. Had the trout with it's head in the fall landed there a fraction of a second sooner he might have been hit by the bottle.
