Laundry Room / Half-Bath
The laundry room shares its space with a sink and toilet. Access to the laundry room can
be made two ways. One entrance is off the back deck and the other is through the kitchen.
The deck entrance is an excellent place to come in and freshen up after a day on the
river. The laundry room has a large capacity washer and dryer which
guests can use at no additional charge.

Bedrooms & Sleeping
Nelson's White River Retreat
comfortably sleeps up to 7 persons. The Western bedroom has a full bed and a twin bed. The
Fishing bedroom has a queen bed. Both bedrooms have deep reach in closets and a dresser
for your use. A twin sleeper sofa is located in the game area, and a queen sleeper sofa is
in the living room and there is a twin daybed with pop-up
trundle on the enclosed porch.
The Fishing bedroom
Many people come to the White River to fish, however, there are other things to enjoy in
the area. Within a short drive of Nelson's White River Retreat is the Norfork Dam view
overlook, Norfork National Trout Hatchery, the historic Wolf House built in 1829, antique,
art and craft shops, horseback riding, and a trail leading to the top of the bluff
towering over the river.
For a historic trip into the past, visit The Ozark Folk
Center in Mountain View, AR, with its Ozark Pioneer festivals, music, arts, and
crafts. Tour Blanchard Springs Caverns, one of America's more spectacular cave systems.
Blanchard is a scenic 1 hour drive away near Mountain View, Arkansas, where you'll also
find some excellent art shopping, dining, and live entertainment.
For more live musical entertainment we are 1-1/2 hour
drive from Branson, MO music shows, and Silver Dollar City. In Springfield, MO, you can
visit Bass Pro Shop, and Wonders Of Wildlife. Historical towns to visit are Eureka
Springs, Mountain View, and Hardy AR.
The White river is about 200 feet from the house. There is excellent bank or wade fishing
access in normal water levels right out the back door. For your convenience, we have
installed a fish cleaning station with running water and electricity for electric knives
behind the house. Wader hangers are located on the barn.
If you would like to venture to other areas of the river, it is
about a 1/2-mile drive to two facilities offering boat/motor rentals, bait, tackle, river
taxi service, and fishing guide services. Their guides know the river well and can give
you a full or half day of fun filled fishing for rainbow, cutthroat, brown trout, and
brookies. If you wish to bring your own boat, a hard-surface public boat launch is a mile
and a half away. Nelson's is 1/4 of a mile downstream from the mouth of the Buffalo River
where spring smallmouth bass fishing is excellent.
If you would like to try your hand at lake fishing for stripers, largemouth, small mouth,
Kentucky bass, walleye, crappie, and a variety of catfish we are within 40 minutes of Bull
Shoals Lake or Norfork Lake. Boats rentals from bass to pontoon boats can be acquired from
lake marinas on either lake as well as fishing guides.
