Fishing,
Activities, & Attractions
The Arkansas White River is famous the world over for trophy rainbow, brown, and
cutthroat trout. Several line class world record trout have been caught close to Denton
Ferry RV. Catching several 12 to 20-inch rainbow in a few hours is also common in the
White. The North Fork River, which is 25 minutes away, is also a top trout fishery where
you'll catch rainbow, brown, cutthroat, and brook trout. The North Fork is most famous for
holding the former world record all tackle brown trout, a trout which weighed nearly 40
pounds! Both the White and the North Fork offer excellent bait, spinning, and fly fishing
adventures.
In addition to superb trout fishing, you'll also discover
striped bass fishing in Lake Norfork (20 minutes away) where the average striper
weighs in at 16 pounds. The Lake record striper is just over 50 pounds, and 30 pound
stripers are fairly common. In addition to the stripers, there's good crappie, largemouth,
smallmouth, and catfish populations in Lake Norfork. Bull Shoals Lake (20 minutes away)
also has good fishing for bass, catfish, and walleye.
Attractions within an hour of Denton RV include Bull Shoals
Caverns, Mountain Village 1890, Top O' The Ozarks observation tower, Bull Shoals and Lake
