Scenic, Great Bank & Wade Fishing, Quiet, & Private

river front grounds
4. Riverfront grounds are open to all Angels Retreat guests

A Peaceful Sanctuary
Peaceful Sanctuary is another important concept at Angels Retreat. Many mornings you will awaken to fog and mist as it drifts and curls next to the river. Birds and waterfowl are plentiful and on any given day you may spot one of the eagles who nest on the White River during various parts of the season. Big blue herons will watch as you walk along the shoreline, and ducks may amuse you as they dive for food. You may get a glimpse of woodchucks, beaver, owls, mink, deer, turkeys, and an occasional fox as you become part of the woodlands which surround us. Whether you choose to observe nature's wonderland from your own tent flap, under the covered illuminated pavilion while dining, or from your lawn chair beneath the covered porch of the guesthouse, you'll be guaranteed to enjoy each and every minute of the view.

Campground
Our campground has 300 feet of river frontage. It's open to anyone staying at Angels Retreat. A wide staircase leads from the campground up to the guest house area. We have drive-in access to the campground and room for trailer parking. Launch your boat all year on our cement ramp. The campground has a filtered fresh water supply.

5. Under the pavilion at Angels Retreat

An illuminated pavilion with six picnic tables makes a great place to spend evenings by the riverside for cook outs. When you're ready for fireside fun, the campfire pit comes with plenty of free firewood. Who knows, you might even be lucky enough to have the mountain man named "Moosekiller" show up at your fire to spin a few yarns for you!

If you prefer "roughing" it there's plenty of room to pitch your tent on our campground. Several family groups have held week-long camping retreats here with multiple tents clustered along the river's edge.

White River Fishing
6.This lucky angler knows where they hide.

Fishing
You can fish right off our campground banks. The ground is flat and very easy to stand on. Ten-pound-plus Rainbows and Browns, similar to the one above, have been caught by customers standing on the boat ramp. Wading fly-fishers have enjoyed the thrill of watching a monster fish tail-dance at the end of their lines.

Since the White River is a tailwater fishery, the water levels will vary according to how many generators are running. On many days there are several hours of excellent wade fishing in front of, upstream, and downstream from our campground.

Guided Trout Fishing Trips
If you really want to have an excellent fishing experience, go out with one of our professional expert fishing guides. Available year around, guided trips are on the White River, North Fork River, and Crooked Creek.

Professionalism is the by-word of our staff. Our owners preserve the sanctity of our customers' needs. For them, "the customer is always right" is a pledge and not an empty phrase. Only the most competent and expert guides will serve your fishing needs at Angels Retreat. Their primary focus is to make sure that you catch your limit of trout on the river during your guided trip, and at the same time that you are treated to the beauty and magnitude of this glorious environment. Boats are large and comfortable and equipped with all necessary safety articles. Your only responsibility is to purchase your fishing license and trout stamp in order to complete your wonderful day of catching fish. You can get your license online here in our office.

Efficiency and indulgence are an important part of everything we offer at Angels Retreat. After a morning of fishing, nothing is left to chance as your guide stops at the Angels Retreat campground for a delicious shore lunch. Your meal will be set up and awaiting only your appetite. With the preparation of our fantastic shore lunch, you will not go away hungry as you feast on many mouth watering treats. Ladies, there is nothing quite so luxurious as to prop your feet up with book and soda in hand, while the men attend to the cooking! If you wish the benefit of a quicker meal, however, you may choose one of our tasty box lunches.

Boats, Canoes, Kayaks, And Guided Foliage Trips
Boats, canoes, and Wilderness Kayaks are available by special arrangements. Fly fishers enjoy fishing from our stable kayaks. Floating foliage tours on the White River are also available. Call or e-mail us for availability and details.
