Retreat On The Arkansas White River - Page 2
Scenic, Great Bank &
Wade Fishing, Quiet, & Private

A Peaceful Sanctuary
Peaceful Sanctuary is another important concept at Angels Retreat. Many mornings you will
awaken to fog and mist as it drifts and curls next to the river. Birds and waterfowl are
plentiful and on any given day you may spot one of the eagles who nest on the White River
during various parts of the season. Big blue herons will watch as you walk along the
shoreline, and ducks may amuse you as they dive for food. You may get a glimpse of
woodchucks, beaver, owls, mink, deer, turkeys, and an occasional fox as you become part of
the woodlands which surround us. Whether you choose to observe nature's wonderland from
your own tent flap, under the covered illuminated pavilion while dining, or from your lawn
chair beneath the covered porch of the guesthouse, you'll be guaranteed to enjoy each and
every minute of the view.

Riverfront grounds are open to all Angels Retreat guests
Campground
Encompassing 300 feet of river frontage, this space is open to anyone staying
at Angels Retreat. A wide staircase leads from the campground up to the guesthouse area.
There's drive-in access and room for pop-up trailer parking. Launch your boat on our
cement ramp.
A pavilion with picnic tables makes a great place to
spend evenings by the riverside for cook-outs. When you're ready for fireside fun, the
campfire pit comes with plenty of free firewood.
If you prefer "roughing" it, there's plenty of room to pitch a tent on our
campground or bring several families for camping retreats.

This lucky angler knows where they hide.
Fishing
You can fish right off our campground banks.
Ten-pound-plus rainbows and browns, similar to the one above, have been caught by
customers standing on the boat ramp. Fly fishers enjoy their own private wading spot.
Guided Trout Fishing Trips
If you seek an excellent fishing experience, take a guided
trip with one of our professional experts. Only the most competent, friendly guides will
serve your group's needs. Their primary focus is assuring that you catch your limit of
trout while enjoying the glorious surroundings. Our shore lunches are heavenly: all made
from scratch, served on our campground, and ready to eat when you arrive from your guided
trip. Box lunches are also an option. Guided trips are available for the White River,
North Fork River, and Crooked Creek.
Canoes, Kayaks, And Guided Foliage Trips
Canoes and Wilderness Kayaks are available by special arrangements. Fly fishers enjoy
fishing from our stable kayaks. Floating foliage tours on the White River are also
available. Call or e-mail us for availability and details.
